Verse of the Day
“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” – Romans 8:18 KJV
I can breathe now. It’s the day after my birthday and the day after Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Didn’t know if I could consistently post on TikTok, Instagram and FB throughout the whole month. And look at that, I am even going over, LOL. It even encouraged me to start blogging again.
The awareness month might be over but… I’m going to still talk about it.
Because I want domestic violence to end.
I am thankful to God for giving me another chance to breathe. I could’ve died when I was being choked.
The first book in my series, Justice? Or… Just Me? The Bite, is free on Kindle until Nov. 4th.
I also heard today that Book 2, The Fight is now available on Audible. Narrated by yours truly.
If you would like to help me continue the domestic violence awareness work that I do, give to my Justice? Or… Just Me? Project. Every donation is tax deductible. It’s to support the work I’m doing to bring awareness to domestic violence. Books, plays, short films, social media content, stand-up comedy, speaking, teaching.

Yesterday, my birthday, was a challenging day. My faith was challenged. Yesterday’s Verse of the Day was:
Verse of the Day
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he/she that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” – Hebrews 11:6 KJV
I thought, “I live by faith. No problem.” But yesterday I had to make a very difficult decision. I was offered a job in a non-union commercial. The money was very good. I would get to sing and dance. I would even get to go back to Florida. It was so tempting. But, in order to take the job, I would have to be Financial Core. This would mean I could do union and non-union work. Seems harmless, right? That’s what I thought years ago when I actually did it. But, it means that SAG-AFTRA looks at you like a scab and I can understand why. The union is there to fight for us, the actors, so that we get paid fairly and treated well. We have protections afforded to us by the mere fact the union exists.
But, at the same time, it has been difficult coming back from this pandemic, financially speaking. After some SERIOUS soul searching, I had to just ask myself, “Do you have faith that God will provide if you turn down this job? Do you trust Him, have faith in His Word and in His promises?” I made the difficult decision to pass on the job. Through tears, I emailed them my decision.
On the other hand, I also had a call-back for a union commercial on my birthday. Hoping for the best.
I also was asked to put some dates on hold for another job.
Praying that God’s will be done. We’ll see what happens.
It was nice to receive birthday wishes from my kids and a beautiful bouquet of purple themed flowers as well.
